Of all the allergy books I have read, yours is the only one that
advised us as a Mom! So many tips and information that are so very important,
but not so obvious. I am delighted to tell you we have had a safe, accidental
exposure-free experience thus far with my son's allergies, and I feel
your book is the main reason. My allergist is great, but he doesn't give
all the day to day hints and information you have provided. This book covers every topic you can think of. Perfect for those
who are new to food allergy and need a lot of information quickly. This is the best book available for parents who are dealing with
a new diagnosis of severe food allergies in their children. I read every
book I can get my hands on, am part of a very organized local food allergy
support group, am a FAAN member and participate in on-line support groups
-- but I still found a lot of great new information and ideas in this
book.
Return to Top .......... My son began elementary school this year and I used this book constantly.
It is a must have for anyone who deals with food-allergic children. An excellent book that covers everything one needs to know for raising
a severely food-allergic child. This book on managing allergies is amazing. I now feel confident
that I can manage my son’s allergies no problem. Plus, the stories
brought me such comfort, to know that other people think and feel and
go through the same things I do. Honestly, it changed my whole outlook
on life! I carry “How To Manage Your Child’s Life-Threatening
Food Allergies" with me wherever I go. It has changed our lives,
for the better. Thank you! This book was a huge help when we recently took our first post-allergy
vacation. It has also been helpful to have some family members read parts
of the book, to help them understand how severe this allergy is.
My severely food-allergic son will be 2 in September, and I have
been thinking of sending him to preschool this fall. The section of the
book on preschools was extremely helpful to me as I have been having anxiety
about this decision. This book has all the answers. It is absolutely wonderful. Return to Top .......... Covers so many issues and provides so much information that I never
would have thought of. I love this book! It affirmed that I am not "paranoid"
or overly cautious, gave me several great ideas on how to teach my son
about his allergies, and started me preparing for his (ever stressful)
entrance into Kindergarten. 'How To Manage' has given me hope that I will get through this 'multiple
food allergy' ordeal with my son (who is almost one year old now). These books are a worthwhile addition to every allergic family’s
personal library. Provides very useful information in an easy-to-access format. "How To Manage" provides some excellent tips and reminders.
I am recommending it to my doctor as a resource for all of his food allergy
patients.
My husband and I talked about certain sections together to say, "see,
we're not the only ones," or "oh, we hadn't thought about that
yet." It is a comforting book, and I really enjoyed your writing
style. Return to Top .......... "How To Manage" is a wonderful resource that will help
many families. I think that allergists and pediatricians should stock
this book and give it to parents the minute their child is diagnosed! Because of your outstanding book, I ordered a MedicAlert bracelet
for my son. I'm reading a little bit each day and learning a lot. Thank
you for creating such a needed book!
